The Banyan Trust is a story of happy children with special needs and disabilities from impoverished backgrounds in Bangladesh and India. Our non-profit-making organisation was founded in 1998 in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands with the aim to provide high-quality support for children with developmental disabilities. Special education, integration, inclusive education, health care, nutritional programmes and family support are the main elements of our work in close partnership with local organisations. Educating children with special needs requires commitment, creativity and, above all, vision. The Banyan Trust programme links its educational approach to the difficult circumstances of our children that live in the worst of urban slums. By supporting The Banyan Trust you help open doors for these vulnerable children otherwise left behind in squalor, neglect and utter hopelessness.
